Out of your sleep arise and wake (Mather)

Carols
Composer:   R. Mather
Voicing:   Two Voices and Accompaniment
Words:   circa 14th - 15th Century
Out of your sleep arise and wake,
  for God mankind hath now ytake.
All of a maid without any make;
  of all women she beareth the bell.

Glory to God in the highest.

And through a maiden fair and wise,
  now man is made of full great price;
now angels kneelen to man's service,
  and at this time all this befell.

Now man is brighter than the sun;
  now man in heaven on high shall won;
blessed be God this game is begun
  and his mother that beareth the bell.

Now blessed Brother grant us grace,
  at doomes day to see thy face,
and in thy court to have a place,
  that we may there sing thee nowell.

It has come to the notice of Cantate Domino, that this work has been put into print without permission of the copyright owner in a book produced by Sangeetha Rayapati, and published by Inside View Press, and it seems that it has been in print since 2012. The copyright notice has been stripped from the work and has been re-published.

While we are honoured to think that such a work is deemed worthy of republication, it is disrespectful and discourteous that it should be done without observing the terms that have been clearly published on this web site since it started.

Sangeetha Rayapati and/or Inside View Press needs to contact Contate Domino to discuss appropriate restitution and terms for taking down this notice.

It should be noted that others who have sought republication have done so through the proper channel, and this should not detour others from still doing so.
